TROPHI Education Bursaries ($1000)  

Bursaries of $1000 funding for short courses and online research opportunities. To be eligible you must: 

  1. be a GP, GP registrar, Practice Manager, general practice staff and other primary health workers, medical students, or pre-vocational doctor. 
  2. be working in a patient-facing general practice, or primary care health service (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical centres) within the TROPHI region.*
  3. have an interest in developing skills and knowledge aligned with regional community needs or increasing capacity to engage in research, translation, education or quality improvement.

This funding can be used to support your engagement in education aligned with the TROPHI regional needs (e.g. mental health) or education focussed on skills associated with research, translation, education or quality improvement.

TROPHI Research development bursaries ($5000) 

Eligible applicants should be early career researchers* who are GPs, including current and former GP registrars or other primary care/general practice professionals working in a patient facing practice within the TROPHI region. 

To be eligible you will be: 

  1. a junior GP registrars (Hospital term, GPT1/CCT1, GPT/CCT2 GPT/CCT 3) or, 
  2. a trainee from other primary care disciplines, 
  3. in the first 18 months of training,
  4. not receiving other funding, and either; 
  5. working in a patient-facing general practice, or primary care health service (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical centres) within the TROPHI region, or 
  6. completing primary health care related research within the TROPHI region.

This funding can be used to:

complete professional development to develop skills in research and/or translation; or

support costs associated with an appropriately supervised research activity.

*NOTE: An early career researcher is someone who has demonstrated commitment to developing their own research capacity. They may who not yet have undertaken a research higher degree; OR are currently enrolled in research higher degree; OR are within five years of completing a research higher degree at the date of application.
